Sophie Littlefield is a gifted story teller. She pays off her series readers' loyalty by giving us happily ever after for Stella Hardesty. But that is the least of what makes this story excellent. Weddings seem to bring out the weirdness of families and this is no exception. While Stella serves as maid of honor for her best friend at a nice Lake of the Ozarks Resort, The bride's family takes center stage delaying the nuptials! Soon Stella and her unique co-worker are pressed into action to get the wedding back on track. Then, Stella is balancing man troubles. Some parts of this book are just laugh out loud funny. Ms Littlefield keeps you on edge as murder, mayhem, and future in-laws must be conquered before the bridal couple get to the altar. Keep an eye on the groom's mother she is a pip.Product details

Love her humor and her friends. Having lived in the suburbs of KC, she captured the rural people at their humblest.
The characters in this series are stuck. I'd like to see them evolve into more than the flat characters they've been portrayed as. I have read a couple in this series and enjoyed the first one but subsequent ones have been more of the same. This series has a lot of potential but the characters need some new material.
This book is terrific. The characters are well written. You'll want to read the books in order...it's just more fun that way. Stella and her crew of misfit helpers (said in a loving way) always try to do the right thing, but sometimes the methods are questionable! But, that's what makes these an interesting read. Would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE more of this series.
A wonderful "Final" book in a great series. Read them all. Enjoy meeting Stella!
Stella proves that everyone can make mistakes in this novel. She is just as spit-fired and determined as ever but is that always a good thing? Goat Jones doesn't think so. He is trying to get her to calm down and makes her promise him not to interfere in the case anymore. But can Stella do that? Which man will she choose BJ Broderson or Goat Jones? The novel is, as all the Stella Hardesty novels, hard to put down. I wish I could stop by Stella's house for a visit. Reading these books is the next best thing.
Love Stella, part time sewing machine repair shop owner and part time justice bringer to woman beating scumbags. She's grown over the course of these three novels from an overweight, huffing, need restraints to make up for upper boady weakness to a sleek and toned athlete. Truly Stella shows that reinventing oneself is possible at any age. Add in her slightly crazy family, a love triangle that includes a man called Goat, and a wedding and A Bad Day for Romance is a great day for laughs and figuring out who done it.
Good fifth novel, and it rounds out the series. By now we know the characters and their quirks, but it gave enough background information so that a new reader would not be too lost. Some of Stella's self-sabotaging behaviors toward a relationship didn't seem plausible.....especially after all the build-up in the last four books..... but not enough to interfere with a generally enjoyable read.
